Resistance in mechanical system

Resistance in mechanical system [Rintangan dalam sistem mekanikal]

When an object is in motion need to be stop, it needs resistance. Hence, resistance opposes motion. When discussing resistance in an object, there two kind of resistance occurs, one is called friction and the other is drag.

What is a friction?

Friction is a force that opposes motion. It is absolutely important in our live. Just immagine without friction how we are going to stop
(a) a moving car
(b) a moving motocycle

Engineer always dealing with friction in kind of "love and hate" term. Well sometimes they love it but sometimes they hate it!

Way to reduce friction?

Simple just lubricate it, what i meant is use some lubricant

What is drag?

Drag is resistance due to friction between the body and the air. For example why they made a formula one car look like a bullet? Well they just want to reduce the drag...
Drag can be reduced by streamlining the body design (make it more aerodynamic)
